Dixville Notch, New Hampshire Voted...

The first Presidential votes in the country have been tallied and the results are:

Giuliani - 1
Romney - 2
McCain - 4

Richardson - 1
Obama - 7
Edwards - 2

For those who aren't aware of the tradition, Dixville Notch opens their polls at midnight. All of the town's voters come in, cast their vote and then everyone sticks around and waits for the tally.

It's 12:14 a.m. The vote has been in for probably 7 or 8 minutes. As you can see, there's not much involved in the vote!

Tonight, they had 100% turnout. All 17 of 'em.

Just so you don't get too excited, we understand they haven't gotten it right for the vast majority of their elections going all the way back to 1900 or so. Earlier one of the newscasters said they had never gotten it right. Later another newscaster said they had it right twice.

We'll check and let you know... but we wanted to get the votes up for all you midnighters.

One more quick note in case you're wondering about Iowa. They held caucuses, different set of rules and playbook from standard elections.
