Williams: Passage of the Ban on Coercive Abortions Act

President Pro Tempore Tommie Williams (R-Lyons) made the following statement after the Georgia Senate passed the Ban on Coercive Abortions Act (SB 529) by a vote of 33-14.

"Once you devalue life at one level, you devalue life at every level. Aborting children based on race or gender is dangerous territory and should never be tolerated in any nation that values life.

Regardless of gender or race, every child deserves a birthday and a chance at life. I want to thank Senator Chip Pearson for bringing Senate Bill 529 before the Senate to protect life. I praise the Senate's actions in passing this needed bill for all of Georgia's children."

Sen. Tommie Williams serves as President Pro Tempore. He represents the 19th Senate District, which includes Appling, Jeff Davis, Long, Montgomery, Toombs, Wayne, and Wheeler counties and a portion of Liberty and Tattnall counties.
